How it all started…

Mike and Carla met in 2018 on the Long Road to Comrades Project – a project that would see a team of 6 individuals attempt to each run 90km a day from Cape Town to Pietermaritzburg over 19 days. And on day 20, they would take part in the Comrades Marathon, a 90km ultra-marathon between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Although the original goal was not achieved due to injuries, it was during this time that Mike and Carla realised that they shared a passion of wanting to take people on adventures and show them how awesome it is to see the world on foot! Read about Mikes experience here and Carla’s here.

They both have an inherent sense of adventure and endurance and have taken part, as well as led, multi-day adventures around the world. Some of their favourites include:

• Project Patagonia - a 6 week running expedition covering 1,200km from Puerto Montt to Villa O’Higgins in Chile, self-supported, pushing all their gear, food and water in jogging strollers.

• Tour of Mont Blanc - a 4 day microadventure covering 170km and climbing over 10,000m through France, Italy and Switzerland.

• GR20 - known as Europe’s hardest trail, this journey traverses the beautiful island of Corsica and covers 180km with over 13,000m of climbing.

• The 4 Deserts: Sahara Race – a 250km self-supported run through the searing heat of the Sahara Desert.

We’re very excited to apply our experience of running across deserts, around islands and over mountains into awesome races, microadventures and expeditions for you to experience and enjoy.
